Why convert PNG to BMP?
PNG is lossless and supports full transparency, which makes it the standard for logos, screenshots, diagrams and anything with sharp edges or text. Photos saved as PNG are large.
BMP is the uncompressed Windows bitmap format. Files are very large (3 bytes per pixel) but trivially simple, which is why some legacy software, embedded systems and wallpaper settings still require it.

How it works on your device
Your browser decodes the PNG file into raw pixels, draws them onto a canvas and asks its built-in encoder to write BMP. Nothing is sent to a server, which is why there is no file-size limit beyond your device's memory and no queue.
