Why convert SVG to WebP?
SVG is a vector format: shapes and text described mathematically, scalable to any size without blur. Many platforms (social media, marketplaces, email) accept only raster images, so SVG logos and icons often need converting to PNG or JPG at a specific pixel size.
WebP, developed by Google, stores photos 25–35% smaller than JPEG at equal quality and also supports lossless mode, transparency and animation. All current browsers open it; some desktop apps and older CMS uploaders still refuse it.
What changes in the conversion
SVG is lossless and WebP is lossy: the conversion trades a little detail for a much smaller file. At quality 90 the difference is invisible for photos; for text and line art keep quality high or prefer a lossless target. Both formats support transparency, which is preserved. The SVG is rasterised at its declared width and height; to get a specific pixel size, resize the result with the image resizer, or edit the SVG's width attribute first.

How it works on your device
Your browser decodes the SVG file into raw pixels, draws them onto a canvas and asks its built-in encoder to write WebP. Nothing is sent to a server, which is why there is no file-size limit beyond your device's memory and no queue.
